Detective Baumhover's Review of Ring Doorbell Footage [58th Tranche]

The date of Baumhover’s legal warrant to look into the doorbell footage is worth noting. November 14 was just 5 days prior to the sentencing hearing, and after the plea deal had been signed. This suggests the detective gave some credence to the possibility that Shan’ann’s BAC may have indicated she’d arrived home inebriated.

Yes, Detective B sees that the doorbell footage clearly shows Shannan as not intoxicated. The raised BAC from the autopsy had to have had its source in decomposition.

heh When I lived at home for a while during college the first time, there was this big orb weaver spider that would build a large web across the back of the house, across the entrance I used to get to my room in the basement. The large spider would then hang there in the middle of it, at roughly nose-level. We all called it “the drunk trap”.

Question: If Shan’ann was attacked as she walked in the door, why did Chris take her pants off?

    • Ralph Oscar

      And where are the pants?
I suspect that, if Chris attacked her right after she got home (likely), as she died, she likely voided her bladder and/or bowels. Big mess. She was a big woman and heavy, so moving her body around would involve *dragging* rather than *carrying* (as with the children), so if her pants were a nasty wet drippy mess, he’d be smart to take them off and bag ’em to minimize the amount of cleanup he’d have to do afterwards.
Perhaps it was the remains of that initial mess that the dogs alerted to at the bottom of the stairs.

      • Sylvester

It takes 2-4 minutes to strangle someone to death so she likely voided before the end. If he was sitting on her or had his body on hers in any way he would want to change his clothing too. He says he put her back on the bed and used the sheet for transport. This was likely where he removed her clothing. But again, I’m a swinging pendulum when it comes to whether she undressed herself or not. Either way it’s a game changer where she might have been killed. So it might take me several years to become settled on that question.

I like your thinking here Ralph. Although not the best source in the world, this link provides some background on the link between asphyxia and defecation.

I’m presently working on a book on the Jason Rohde case. I have provided a little coverage here on TCRS. From the stats I can see virtually no one has read any of the coverage posted thus far. It involved a murder by strangling and smothering staged as a suicide. It also has many scenarios analogous to the Watts case. I’m not going to deal with that here, except to say the deceased was murdered in bed [in a hotel room] and then moved to the bathroom where her death was staged as a suicide. Her gown was changed, and human excrement was found in the carpet and in the bathroom, despite his best efforts to clean up after himself.
The fecal matter alone [in the Rohde case] was enough to prove murder. The defense argument was that it wasn’t necessarily human fecal matter.

I’m surprised vivint still had the footage, our security company only keeps video footage 30 days, not sure which is the standard

    • Ralph Oscar

Couldn’t the footage have been seized during the investigation and it’s only leaking out to the public now?

  4. mitzi2006

Not sure but says November 14th Baumhover issued the warrant, guess that means they didn’t have it yet. It seems odd that they wouldn’t get all the evidence they could before that late date

    • Liz

Mitzi2006. If you look at the image at the top of the post before the yellow highlighter starts under Arrests and Suspects you will see this
The following information was documented at the time it was gathered. The date of this report is not indicative of when the
      investigation(s) occurred.
Subsequent to receiving and reviewing the autopsy reports for Shanann, Bella and Celeste I noted Shanann’s BAC level
      reported to be .128.
So according to Baumhover, he was reviewing the already received footage he had obtained by legal warrant whether from router or vivint (wish we knew) to see if Shanaan looked intoxicated. The autopsies were done mid to late August, and put in discover files early September.

  5. Shannon

    Ralph.
Yes he probably did kill within minutes of walking in the door. On the first floor.
She would have been quite heavy to move. I didn’t realize how big she was. In the Videos, you don’t see below her chest. I wonder if put her over his shoulder to carry her to the truck. 2 things I read, they were in the back seat and then another showed an imprint like a body in the back area of truck.
He wrapped her in the blanket, cause he took her pants off….. probably a mess.
She kinda looks pissed off, walking to the front door.

    • Ralph Oscar

“I didn’t realize how big she was.”
Remember, the two months before this video, she hadn’t made hardly any videos at all, and in the videos from the family vacation, she was the one behind the camera. She’d clearly packed on some pounds (as one does when pregnant), and that would affect how Chris would deal with her body after the murder. Chris, on the other hand, was likely stronger than he’d ever been, due to how he’d been working out.

      • Shannon

Yes. No more thriving for her. She had gained alot of weight. She would have been quite heavy, I must say. Chris thriving getting in shape.
Thing is Ralph, the baby at this time is the size of a Orange….this not all baby.
I just posted on Nick’s posts…last pic of Shanann alive.
There’s another video…*still* pics of a shadow on the porch. Check it out.
        Very interesting I must say.
        Thanks Ralph.

      • Shannon

Ralph, she was supposed to be working while visiting her parents. Yet there were no videos of her thriving.
I haven’t been able to read everything , because I’m on a cell phone..I try but to hard to read. Maybe this was in documents…I don’t know.
Why, no thriving videos….is that not wierd.

      • Cheryl Filar

I noticed how heavy she was and was surprised, even though she was pregnant. My thoughts are she had been at home in North Carolina for six weeks and likely eating more than usual due to socializing with family and friends. Southerners are big on feeding their kin well; it’s an offering of love. I also thought she may have been eating more and packing on weight due to stress, which she had in abundance. Coupled with the chaos in her life, she may have stopped recording the videos because of her weight gain. Thinking about how heavy and exhausted she was as she approached her front door one last tiime makes me feel sad all over again.

      • Ralph Oscar

As Shannon and Cheryl noted, at this stage in her pregnancy (almost 4 months), most women haven’t put a whole lot of weight on. That usually happens toward the end of the 2nd trimester and throughout the 3rd trimester. Especially if she’d been feeling unwell (nausea, that gallstone) – one might expect to see that she’d *lost* weight.
But no – she was *quite* large. Which likely would have added to her fatigue – carrying around all those extra pounds is no walk in the park.
I, too, thought that she might have been stress-eating, sad-eating, as a way of self-soothing given the tension in her marriage and her ambivalence about the pregnancy. As you can see at the link below, once Shan’Ann realized Thrive would not support her “thrivin'” through her pregnancy, to brand the pregnancy and new baby for her “Thrive” business, her video output dropped precipitously.
        https://crimerocket.com/2018/11/02/shanann-watts-intended-to-brand-baby-niko-and-credit-thrive-for-her-perfect-pregnancy-but-her-plan-backfired/

        • Shannon

          Good comment Ralph.
The doctors really only want you to gain about 25 lbs, any more extra weight not needed. Harder birth and much harder to lose. I gained exactly 25 pounds with my girls. I lost about 15 pounds right after the births
          Healthy happy babies.
Stress can make you not really want to eat, if she already sickie, she would vomit more often.
But, it shows that she did eat…..alot.
Now I think I figured out why no videos, from your comment.
          No more thriving….. interesting.
Now there fucked big time, but then again, her not wasting money on this product.
In the states do mother’s get a baby cheque. Over here they do, very good payment monthly. But I think they take into account, family income. Not sure how it works there.
Ralph…….I’m getting tired of negative BS comments to my comments. It’s a few New Posters.
Maybe because I speak my mind, and the truth. I don’t put out a comment unless I know, what’s behind it.
I probably look like a bitch. Lmao.
          Oh well……..what can one do.
          Thanks for listening….lol

          • nickvdl

Shannon, I think we need to weed out some of the newbies here. Anyone else gives you grief unnecessarily and unreasonably let me know and they’re outa here.

      • Ralph Oscar

Shannon: “Now there fucked big time, but then again, her not wasting money on this product.”
Here’s the thing – I read on the LeVel site that, here, take a look:
“Le-Vel offers a thirty (30) day return policy on all products sold to Retail Customers through Le-Vel Authorized Brand Promoters. Refunds for unopened and undamaged products will be issued at the original purchase price less a 10% restocking fee. Refunds for open, partially used or otherwise damaged products will be issued at 50% of the original purchase price. Any costs associated with shipping & handling will not be refunded or reimbursed.”
“Resignation Returns. All product in a CURRENTLY MARKETABLE, REUSABLE, UNOPENED AND RESALABLE condition which have been purchased within sixty (60) days* shall be repurchased subject to compliance with the Seventy Percent Rule (see section 6.5 of Le-Vel’s Policies & Procedures). The repurchase shall be at a price of not less than 90% (ninety percent) of the original net cost to the participant minus any freight charges and commissions paid to the Brand Promoter.
Note: Commissions earned will be offset as a result of the product return. Any return requests will be considered a resignation of the Brand Promoter’s Promotership with Le-Vel.”
Notice in particular that last sentence – Shan’Ann couldn’t return stuff without losing her position, status, points, and seniority as a Level promoter. And there’s more:
“Unauthorized Returns. Should a Brand Promoter refuse delivery of any Le-Vel shipment or request to return any previously purchased product for a refund, such request will be deemed as a voluntary resignation.” https://le-vel.com/Terms
So Shan’Ann was totally screwed. She had that expensive car leased in her own name, so she was ultimately the one responsible for the payments, and now that she couldn’t be using the Thrive products to show off how wonderfully they were improving her health and her pregnancy, her sales might drop off. Which means LeVel wouldn’t be issuing those auto bonus checks to pay for the monthly lease payment. Which means SHE would have to be coming up with that monthly lease payment. They didn’t have that kind of money. So she’d have several months of *less* income and *more* expenses, only to emerge from this not-really-wanted pregnancy way in the hole as far as “her business” went, since she apparently couldn’t figure out how to promote when she couldn’t be the face of Thrive, joyously consuming the Thrive products on videos and wearing the Thrive patches in every photo. What the hell was she going to do…
That’s what I saw in her final approach to the front door of that big house they couldn’t pay for. What the hell was she going to do…

      • Ralph Oscar

I haven’t had any problem with anything you’ve posted or how you’ve posted, Shannon. We may not agree on everything; we may not see eye to eye; but that’s no reason we can’t enjoy the same space. My job is not to convince you; your job is not to convince me. We’re each (all) working out the details within our own minds, according to our own understanding. We each have the chance to put the puzzle together.
I’m afraid that we’ve been here together long enough that we’ve had time to collect enough data and discuss sufficiently that we’ve developed a nuanced view of this case. The n00bs have not; they come riding in all self-righteous “Murdering your pregnant wife and children is WRONG!!” Please.
If someone is being jerkish to you, ignore them – you’ve got plenty of other people here to interact with, who value your perspective and respect your intellect. Don’t worry about the others; let them talk amongst themselves, since they have more in common with each other. And we’ll talk amongst ourselves. If it segregates along experience lines, so be it. I don’t know about you, but I have limited patience for explaining the same old things each time someone new stumbles onto this site. We should be far distant from “He should have just gotten a divorce!” by now.
The fact of the murders is our starting point. GIVEN that Chris murdered his pregnant wife and daughters, we now are trying to figure out why. There is nothing but information to look through, dots to be connected. To say Chris should have done something different is illegitimate because the murders are our starting point. The murders are fact. There’s no purpose to talking about what Chris *could* have done instead of murder or what Chris *should* have done instead of murder – that’s irrelevant and wasting everyone’s time. HE DIDN’T. So, given that fact – and it IS a fact – we seek to understand WHY Chris felt that was his only option. If he didn’t feel it was his only option, he wouldn’t have done it. If there had been some better option, he would have done that. He didn’t, so to him, that was the only option. There’s no point discussing this aspect of the case further, and it’s annoying when that’s all the new people want to do.
        Harrumph.

      • Ralph Oscar

“In the states do mother’s get a baby cheque. Over here they do, very good payment monthly. But I think they take into account, family income. Not sure how it works there.”
So, like I said before, if Shan’Ann cut back her purchases, LeVel might have cut her (sacked her) from her position as Promoter. It definitely would have stopped paying her. That auto bonus payment would be gone – that’s $800/month gone right there that Shan’Ann (I mean Chris) would have had to pay.
And the answer is NO! Here in the States, women get a big fat NOTHING when they have a baby. If they meet income requirements, they can get free health coverage; they can get WIC (Women/Infants/Children) – it’s vouchers to buy specific products like milk, eggs, peanut butter, beans, etc. to supplement the family diet; and that’s about it – someone who has more current knowledge than I do can fill this in (it’s been decades since I last had any exposure to it). You have to be very poor to be eligible for subsidized housing, but there are years-long waiting lists for a subsidized apartment. There is help for paying the utilities, but again, you must be quite poor. And it can be difficult to get the aid; women have to jump through a lot of hoops, fill out a lot of paperwork. Transportation can be an issue; with WIC, women have to go in every couple of months for a face-to-face and an (insultingly elementary) “class” on nutrition/budgeting. Someone I knew told me that in one of her WIC classes, she and the other clients were given a bill from a restaurant so they could see how much the soft drinks added up to – “See how much you can save by ordering water to drink?” Like these were women who were going to restaurants!
So NO fat checks! No automatic payments from the government to the women who just had a baby. Here, you’re lucky if you are able to get unpaid leave from your job without losing your job. It’s incredibly stressful on families.

  6. Sylvester

It’s too bad Nickole didn’t back into Chris’s truck. Had she done that, she would have felt obligated to come inside.

  7. K

I have to wonder why this video is now available. Do the parents have a right to restrict some of the information? Did something occur that caused a decision to make this available? I think does prove that SW was not drinking and thus any conspiracy theory about her drinking before she came home is proven false. I am taking a guess that CW took a quick plea because his accusation against SW could have been easily proven as false. I am beginning to think that any element of reasonable doubt would vanish if we had all the documents.

    • Shannon

It’s called an open records request.

  8. Kim

I have the uncomfortable past of being a witness in a murder that was solved after 30 years. The family and key witnesses have no control of what gets released, and often hear about it in the news when the case is “solved” and everyone is dead or incarcerated. I would imagine there will be more data released, as well as a significant amount held closer to the vest in the event of a possible appeal.
You lose total control of what is released, to include your own information or someone reenacting you on TV. It’s eerie.

    • Ralph Oscar

Thank you for that valuable information, Kim. I’m sorry you gained it at such a great cost.

  9. Kaye

Just want to offer some feedback on people’s conments on how big Shananns belly was. I think she looks totally normal and as expected for being in her third pregnancy. Every time the body gets pregnant it “shows” earlier than the last one and the uterus is much more elastic each time. For my second pregnancy my body definitely had that reaction. I can’t imagine what a third would be like—and I’m not trying it!

    • Ralph Oscar

I wasn’t reacting to her belly; I was more commenting on how large her hips/thighs were.

      • Cheryl Filar

I agree, Ralph. And some great info/points on how Shan’ann’s pregnancy was affecting her ability to earn money via Thrive. She was really boxed in, wasn’t she. Approaching the door just prior to her murder, not only did she look heavy and exhausted, but she also looked as if she had given up. Between her deteriorating marriage, the mixed messages from Chris, her financial/job situation, and the overall uncertain future she could no longer ignore, it’s as if the formerly go-getter, optimistic Shan’ann had already disappeared just prior to Chris’s making that materially manifest.

      • Shannon

I didn’t realize they get no monthly help. One kid here gets you close to $1000.00 a month, plus lots of help.
But over here, we still have problems, mostly rent….going up up up. Hard.

    • Shannon

Shanann was a big boned woman anyways. Most of her body was fat, not baby. Her legs and hips were quite large. Even her upper body was big. The baby was the size of a Orange!
You really gain baby weight in the last few months.

      • Sara

Fish-eye camera lens has distorted her figure…

      • Ralph Oscar

The problem here is that she has gained back all that weight she lost “Thrivin'”. Compare to the “before” image in the “before/after” montage at the bottom. How’s THAT going to work for Shan’Ann’s “business”? She was promoting a healthful lifestyle with dramatic, observable benefits, yet as soon as she had to go off, she blimped right back up! Now she’s approaching the size of her fat friends! People are going to look at that and say, “Hmm…this doesn’t look like the kind of thing I want to get involved with if I’m going to yoyo right back up the moment I quit. I don’t think I want to have to be dependent on this expensive line of products for the rest of my life.”

      • Cheryl Filar

She was empirically a beautiful woman, however you choose to describe her. Deal with it.

        • Shannon

Cheryl. I don’t have to deal with anything. Shes the one whose dead, not me. Shanann is Quite chubby in these pics, for her height. She has big legs, thighs, arms.
She was even big in her wedding pics.
Without thriving, didn’t take her long to gain, did it
Beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
I’m not body shaming her. I just wouldn’t let myself get that way.

  10. Shannon

    Thank you Nick.
    Thank you Ralph.

    • Cheryl Filar

I don’t think Shan’ann was anywhere approaching the size of her much, much heavier friends. Shan’ann had a curvy, Rubenesque body type, which tends to pack on more weight during pregnancy. Look at the video when Shan’ann had CeCe and look at the size of her arms in that video. She was large then and lost it all, as I’m sure she would have done after the third pregnancy. I have the same body type and gained a lot of weight quickly just like Shan’ann when I was pregnant. Like she did with her previous pregnancies, I took it all off. I understand how Shan’anns’s weight gain was antithetical and problematic per the Thrive healthy lifestyle she was promoting. However, implicit in your posts, Ralph and Shannon, I sense a prejudice toward women whose bodies don’t adhere to the model-like idealized standard promoted by Hollywood, the fashion and health industries, as well as mass media. In this context, you’re doing a great disservice to Shan’ann and other women, who are much more than the daily sum recorded on their scales.

      • K

        Well put Cheryl.

      • Ralph Oscar

Cheryl, Shan’Ann was shilling weight loss products, and much of her online promotion had revolved around her losing weight. Look around online for LeVel “Thrive” profiles – this is commonplace. So Shan’Ann putting on weight is a problem for her “business”. That is all.

    • Teresa

It usually only semi-socialist countries that pay families to have children. This is due to the already high tax rates and lack of religious belief. The countries that fit that bill usually have such low birth rates that they’re importing people to keep their ponzi scheme social security programs going.

  11. Kim

She was listed on the autopsy as 144 pounds, 5’6″, 2 cm fat at the belly button level. While Chris was not a tall man, he was lifting weights. I don’t think 145 (if accurate) is an unbearable load for a man of his age and fitness level, especially if she was carried fireman-style (over the shoulder).

  12. Cheryl Filar

I figured my comments would be lost on you, Shannon. I stated them nonetheless on behalf of myself and all women, who aggregately struggle with prejudice per our gender — complements of the male patriarchy, whose views you seem to have, to your detriment, internalized and now impose on other women—alive and, per Shan’ann, dead. But you have to give Shan’ann credit: she lost weight while she decomposed. Right?

    • Shannon

If you had read my original comment. I said I didn’t realize she was so big. Because her vids only show chest up. Minus the last 2 months, no vids.
I was surprised, like many people.
I have people in my life, varying shapes, sizes and colours.
If you think you can comment to me, and no comment back….Guess again.

  13. Cheryl Filar

I’ve read many of your comments, Shannon. And I see right through you—and Ralph. End of my comments—period. You and “Ralph” can mutually celebrate.

    • Teresa

      ”Patriarchy”? Really?

    • Victor

Cheryl, I’ve been a longtime reader since before Christmas, and have only posted a wee bit. I enjoy reading your comments, you have a great way with words, and your comments are well-considered and interesting. Please don’t let a few people here get under your skin. If tearing down a dead woman makes them feel better about themselves, so be it. Call them out, for sure, but let them go along – I’m sure I’m not only speaking for myself when I say that I see right through shallow bullshit posted about the size of her ass and thighs, straight into the petty-mind that generates such s**t. Shanann wasn’t perfect, inside or out, but none of us are. Regardless of her flaws, and she had *many*, she didn’t deserve to be murdered, nor does she deserve pejorative ongoing snarky comments about the fact she wasn’t a size 2. Yeah, she gained weight – she was pregnant, and stressed to fucking kingdom-come. Give the woman a goddamn break.

      • Cheryl Filar

Thank you, Victor. I appreciate your comments and advice. You ought to consider posting more frequently, as you’re very articulate. I’ll say more, but I have trouble logging in here when my router is down—in this instance due to a significant snow storm—for the So Cal region.

      • Cheryl Filar

        Okay, so here’s part two:
During the last few weeks, I’ve begun to see Shan’ann as profoundly and tragically flawed. This perception has made her more human and, as a result, more accessible to me. Beyond the videos, which don’t present a flattering picture of her, especially when she’s bullying Chris, there is so little we know about her background and how it influenced her development and outlook, as well as how it may have limited her future. We do know that she grew up in a blue collar, likely struggling, middle class or lower middle class family. Families such as these don’t generally have the resources to help their children build a better life than the one they have been dealt. The primary resource they are lacking is a formal education beyond high school, whether it’s a full-blown college education or technical training. The lack of this resource limits their view of the world along with the opportunities it offers outside of someone’s immediate environment and means. This truncated outlook is often passed on to their children. Unlike Shan’ann, I had the good fortune of growing up in a family (crazy as it was in so many respects), that emphasized higher education and hard work as the pathway to a self-sustaining future. I also had the advantage of growing up with a mother who was an educator herself—who taught me how to think for myself and write. For me, writing became my ticket to better-paying jobs, because, I believe, it’s a diminishing skill. I know Shan’ann did not have these advantages, but, as noted by her brother and others, she did have ambition—an ambition that sadly could not be realized because of her lack of training and/or education. I can’t imagine having Shan’ann’s dreams and not having the ability to substantially achieve or sustain them. I think her frustration with her limits caused her to seek seemingly easy pathways, such as MLMs and husbands, that she hoped would lead to a secure, ideal life. However, the gap between Shan’ann’s ambition and her resources to achieve it caused her to become bound to her dreams, which, in the end, blinded her to the deteriorating reality of her situation. I find this extremely sad and in doing so have softened my approach to Shan’ann—despite all her well-known flaws.

Shanann did work while visiting her parents in North Carolina. On July 20 there was a Thrive event at Kickback Jacks in NC. Shanann’s friend, Sandra, that she went to dinner with in NC commented on attending the event and hanging out with Shanann and her friends afterwards. Shanann also went to another Thrive event in Arizona after that so she still was working up until her death. She used fertility drugs with Bella and Cece. She was not using any fertility drugs when she got pregnant with their third child. They only tried twice when Shanann got pregnant with their son. Shanann believed it was because her healthier lifestyle and Thrive.
Chris did not carry Shanann to truck he pulled her on the sheet. The video shows him walking backwards pulling something. For her weight (144 pds) and height (5’7″) her BMI was normal at 22.6 (18.5-24.9 normal.) Normal adult weight for this height is between 118-159.

Chris did not carry Shanann to truck he pulled her on the sheet. >>>This should not be stated as fact. It’s been suggested that Watts pulled Shan’ann’s body across the driveway on a sheet. If that were the case the cadaver dogs should have alerted to this area.

At this point, we have no evidence that demonstrates/explains how and whether Chris wrapped his victims to transport them to and in the truck. We have no evidence that shows how Chris moved them from the murder scene(s) to the truck.
There may be such evidence, but none of us has seen it as yet. So we can’t say *how* Chris moved the bodies. They may have been carried; they may have been dragged; he may have loaded them onto a freakin’ hand truck. We simply don’t know.

Shan’Ann’s height was given as 5’6″; the BMI was 23.24. From the pics, I never would have guessed she only weighed 144 lbs. She looked more like 165 lbs or so to me.
The Thrive event in Arizona was just a typical MLM rah-rah convention; that isn’t “working”. And it doesn’t count as a “work trip” when you have to pay for it yourself, as she did. When it’s a legitimate “work trip”, the company pays all the employee’s expenses.

        Ralph…..lol….it’s almost like a War-zone here.
I pretty much agree with your comments.
Myself I’m not commenting on her weight anymore. It’s a Rough area for some…..lol

      • Ralph Oscar

Agreed, Shannon. I’ve said all I wanted to say; people can certainly look and see for themselves.

        • Shannon

          Agree. I’m tired of explaining.

Speaking of the sheet – the fitted sheet that was held up for the camera in the Cervi field has strange marks on it. I would have thought the printed side of the sheet would have been face up on the bed, and turned to the camera, nevertheless they are holding up the underside. There are of course what look to be dirt streaks and two oblong areas that are dirt-free, and the same size. The oddest shape is in the lower right side and a perfect outline of a square. What did he set down on the sheet.
I tend to think the sheet with the most stains was put in the trash. Then the fitted sheet was used to transport. If he attacked, then carried her up to the bed her body would have leaked fluids. I would think the bulk of those fluids would be on the top sheet. Roll her over and pull that sheet off just as they do in the hospital when they change a bed with you in it. Then the bottom fitted sheet was used to transport. It’s that sheet that had something square resting on it. May have been an object from his truck or something he set down on it as he worked and dug. I had thought he used the fitted sheet to drag her across the dirt but he parked near where he had to dig so that is why you don’t see much dirt on the sheet. All of the dirt is on the sheet from the coroner. Bodily fluids were left behind on the top sheet in the trash. In any event I would like the test results of all sheets and pillow cases. And you know they know what they are.

“Something square” – like a gas can?

      • Sylvester

Hi Ralph – no, it appears to be perhaps a 5″x5″ square. He must have set something down on the sheet. Although now that you mention it I wonder what kind of impressions are on the bottom of a gas can – like indentations or whatever. Let’s face it, why did he take his gas can along that morning? In the beginning I thought he had disposed of it but then I saw it – moved to the back of his truck bed. But green lighter plus gas can equals something don’t you think?

Corpse doesn’t actually gain weight. But physics means the same body is harder to lift. There is a difference between a live person and the same person who is dead.
Centre of gravity, mass and physical state and the dead-bod effect are 3 factors to consider.
The dead body cannot help lift, move itself.
Meaning, it is hard to move a dead body by yourself.

Regarding her shirt, is it typical for evidence to be hung up in the way it was discovered on the body? For example, was she found with her shirt on inside out, or did they hang it like that in evidence for some reason? I would think that her being found with no pants on, and her shirt on inside out, may point towards Chris attempting to redress her himself in haste …

  18. Karen

I really feel that Shan’ann was so stressed and consumed with her marital life and trying to figure out what was going on with her husband that she wasn’t thinking or caring ‘as’ much about her business with Thrive

  19. Sylvester

If her doctor advised she cut out using the Thrive patches and shakes then what does that say about Level? For one that their products are not to be used either with pregnant or lactating women – yet I doubt there are any “surgeon general’s warnings” on them. Or any disclaimer’s at all. They should be put out of business.

    • Victor

Sylvester, I have a nine-month-old son, so have recently been pregnant and recall very well the disclaimers on so many commonly imbibed items: “Not to be taken by pregnant or lactating women” or “Pregnant or lactating women should consult with a physician before use.” Many items bearing this disclaimer are perfectly safe for consumption, but manufacturers are trying to cover themselves should anything untoward occur…guess you can’t blame them for this, especially in the sue-happy legal environment of the USA. Le-Vel, LeVel, whatever their shitty company is called, haven’t published any research about the safety [or efficacy for that matter] of their products, so it would be in the best interests of all, especially a Ob-Gyn, to steer pregnant women away…
Imagine the shit storm that would ensue if Shanann had continued on with her Thrive-branded pregnancy, plastered it all over social media, and given birth to a son with some kind of health disorder or birth defect…yikes.
I agree that Le-Vel [googled it] should be put out of business, mainly because they’re selling overpriced crap that no one needs, polluting the earth with their packaging and hideously-branded apparel and assorted other shite, and causing untold financial stress to vulnerable families with their greed-based pyramid-scheme. Especially in the states, where families receive *nothing* in the way of assistance throughout pregnancy or child-raising, who can blame women from wanting to believe they can make a good living and stay at home with their kids? Not that Shanann was staying at home with her kids, but that’s another story…

      • Cheryl Filar

Great post, Victor. I agree , especially regarding “who can blame women for wanting to believe they can make a good living and stay at home with their kids.” Of course predatory companies like Level know this and that’s a large part of their lure—promoting that illusion.

      • Sylvester

Right Victor! She even said this baby was going to be a Thrive baby. Her last weekend on earth she went to a LeVel business event – yet she had likely stopped wearing the patches and drinking the magical elixirs. So what does that say about the products she was promoting. She must have known it wasn’t good for a pregnant woman to take. Honestly it wasn’t good for Chris either. He was walking around with three patches on his body, drinking the shakes, and couldn’t sleep at night. Cranked up. I’d like to believe had she lived she would have stopped promoting LeVel. Think how difficult it would have been to have a newborn at home and two children with no husband trying to promote a happy carefree life where what seems to be most important is fancy cars, big houses, trips to Cabo and a wealthy lifestyle when that would have been far from the truth. It’s because people put a premium on these things to begin with that creates these kind of companies.

  20. Shannon

I don’t know much nor am I really interested. But should there be a date, time on this video. Why would she be wearing jeans, top with a sweater in Aug….isn’t it hot there.
How come N pulled in driveway, when Shanann stipulates No one is allowed to pull into driveway when kids sleeping? How come we don’t see her get out of car and hear anything.
Could Chris and Shanann have had a …perspecticde relationship.

    • Shannon

My mistake. I see time, date.

      • Karen

It was my understanding that she didn’t want Chris’ truck on the driveway because it leaked oil and it was the garage door opening and closing that would wake the kids because their bedrooms were directly over the garage. Concerning the sweater, it was nearly 2 am so I imagine it may have been cool out. It is in AZ at night in August. To me anyway.
